TITLE

     Before we look closer at the Name ( 'Ha Shem '), let us go to the dictionary and see what the word 'Title' means. Title: an identifying appellation signifying status or function: e.g. Mr. or General: an appellation signifying nobility;      Now that we know what a title is, let us look at the following (titles) words: "The Scriptures, (PTY) South Africa", El, Eloah, Elohim, Elyon:

El: Mighty One, Strength Eloah: is the singular form of Elohim, it has the same meaning as El. Elohim: is pural of Eloah, Rulers, Messengers Elyon, El Elyon: The Most High El.
Hebrew- Eloah, Elyon, Elohim Aramaic- Elah, Illaya, Elahin

     "The word 'EL' is an ancient Semitic term. Among Semitic languages, it is one of the most used terms for greatness, strength or deity. In the Hebrew religious usage it does not denote a proper name but is used as a title. Used for the Creator's Supremacy over all others as a generic term like in Daniel 11:36, "the EL of elahin" In Mark 15:34, "Eli, Eli, lamah shebaqtani. (My El, My El, why have you forsaken me?)."     Turn with me to the book of Exodus (Shemoth) 23:13, "And in all that I have said to you, take heed. And make no mention of the name of other mighty ones, let it not be heard from your mouth."     The word heed means, "to listen, be careful". We are being told to "listen up, be careful to make no mention of the name of other mighty ones (gods) neither let it be heard from our mouths."
Malachi (Mal'aki) "For I am YHWH, I shall not change, and you O sons of Yaaqob, shall not come to an end."      From this verse, we see that Elohim changes not. Now some may claim that He changes. For instance, they might say, "Oh that is Old Testament stuff; we are in the New Testament now." Have you read anywhere, in a verse where He says, "Oh, I'm ever-changing?" No, you haven't, He said, "He changes NOT." We should take heed to His words, wouldn't you agree?     If you have a K.J.V Bible or any other version, you may come across this statement: "Translated out of the Original Tongues and with previous translations diligently compared and revised." The "Original Tongues" is indeed the inspired word of Elohim. Through the lengthy process of translating scriptures, human error has occurred. For instance, in the book of "Acts 12:4 the word "Easter" is used, when the proper word should be "Passover". Another error can be found in "Hebrews 4:9", where the word 'rest' was substituted with the word 'Sabbath'. The Greek word is 'sabattismos', meaning 'Sabbath-keeping'.     These minor errors can change the whole meaning of the verse and the main subject being addressed. I recommend that everyone should have a Bible concordance and a Bible dictionary. I myself use "The New Strong's Complete Dictionary of Bible Words", with proper Hebrew, Greek and English translations. I also have the "Green's Interlinear Greek-English N.T." Let us not overlook 2nd Timothy 2:15, "Study to shew thyself approved unto Elohim, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth".     We briefly covered some of the titles (such as Elohim) that the Creator of Heaven and Earth bears. Let us go to the scriptures to see if there are more titles given to Him.     Genesis (Bereshith), 35:11; "I am El Shaddai". Exodus (Shemoth) 3:14, 15, "And Elohim said to Mosheh, "I am that which I am". The Hebrew reads "eyeh 'asher 'eyeh". Eyeh derived from hayah meaning, "to be, to exist". Verse 14 leads up to verse 15 when He tells us His "Name". In the book of Revelation, we find another title given to the Creator, Revelation 1:8, "I am the 'Aleph' and the 'Taw', Beginning and End," says YHWH "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty".    You may wonder why your version does not use these words, instead it uses the words "Lord" and "God". Why is this? Are the words "Lord" and "God" names or titles? What about "God", is that a name or a title? You should find the answer to this question very surprising. According to the "Encyclopedia Britannica", we find the following (Please note how the this was adopted as a Name. All emphasis added by me)
"GOD- the common Teutonic word for a personal object or religious worship, applied to ALL those superhuman beings of heathen mythologies. The word "god" on the conversion of the Teutonic races to Christianity was adopted as the name of the one Supreme Being".      In the James Hastings, "Encylcopedia of Religion and Ethics, vol. 6." We find the following: "After the conversion of the Teutons to Christianity, the word came to be applied also to the Christian Deity."  The Unabridged, "Webster's Twentieth Century Dictionary", says the following: "The word is common in Teutonic tongues, it was applied to heathen deities and LATER, when the Teutonic peoples were converted to Christianity, the word was LATER elevated to the Christian sense."
     The following is a list of some of the generic names, Gad, God, Gud, Gott. These names were among the Teutonic tribes. "Goda" is a proper name for an idol. Woden, "the name of the highest god." was also called Witan, Odan, The day of the week, "Wednesday" or some would say, "Godenstag" is named after the Teuton deity!       Oh my beloved friends, let us go back to that verse, Exodus (Shemoth) 23:13, "And in all that I have said to you take heed. And make 'no mention of the name of other mighty ones, let it not be heard from your mouth'.      This is almost unbelievable! Truly, man has made a great error. When I first discovered this, I was stunned. Then as the scriptures tell us, "You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free". Once I prayed about this and research this information out for myself, it became obvious. Many times I have watched the Music Awards in amazement, hearing people say: "I give thanks to God". People in every culture use the word God in their everyday vocabulary in meaningless statements. Unwittingly they are blaspheming (Elohim) YHWH.

Let us review the "Third commandment":
Exodus (Shemoth) 20:7 "Thou shalt not take the name of the "LORD" (YHWH) thy "God" (Elohim) in vain; for the "LORD" (YHWH) will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain".

     According to the, "Webster's Twentieth Century Dictionary", The word vain means: empty, worthless, having no genuine substance or value or importance. Under syn., empty, worthless, unimportant, false, void.      So, Elohim will not hold the person guiltless that takes His Name in vain (empty, worthless, void, unimportant) or brings His name to naught (nothing).

"Webster's Twentieth Century Dictionary", tells us the following about LORD: A TITLE of respect."

    So far, we see that LORD is a title. Could this title have become a name? Just like with the title/generic name of God? Sadly the answer is YES! What has the world done by substituting His name with a title? Has it not, brought His name to naught? Has the world not voided out His Name? Has it not brought His name to seem unimportant? Has the world replaced His name with a name of a pagan deity? Has the world NOT SINNED AGAINST HIM?
Exodus (Shemoth) 23:13 "And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods (mighty ones), neither let it be heard out of thy mouth."
 Not only is LORD a title, but it is also a name of Baal. Who or what is Baal?
"Webster's Twentieth Century Dictionary", defines Baal: "From Hebrew Lord, the supreme male divinity of the syrophenicians; the sun god, the lord or master representing productive power. The name is used in scripture in combinations of designating different ideas of a lord, or different functions a divine character; as Baal berith is the lord of the covenant; Baal phegor, the lord of the dead; baal zebub, litteraly god of flies, meaning the god of the Philistines."      Oh my, beloved friends, it is unthinkable, the human error that has taken place, but it is true. Watch what scriptures tells us, turn to:     
Jeremiah (Yirmeyahu),23:27; "Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal."

     Wow! Can you feel the Spirit (Ruach Ha Qodesh) working, to reveal the truth to YOU? I can feel and see the darkness being exposed! Praise be to Yah!      There are many verses that speak of how important the NAME of YHWH is. The following is just a few verses:

Deuteronomy 32:3, "Because I will publish the name of  ascribe ye greatness unto our Eloah".
1 Chronicles 16:8, "Give thanks unto call upon his name; make known his deeds among the people."
Psalms 20:7, "Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of our Eloah." Psalms 34:3, "O magnify with me, and let us exalt his name together". Psalms 113:2, "Blessed be the name of the from this time forth and for evermore."
Micah 4:5, "For all people will walk every one in the name of his god,(mighty one) and we will walk in the name of our Eloah for ever and ever." Zechariah 13:9, "And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, is my Eloah."
     From the verses above, (there are many more), we can truly see how important His name is. Have you noticed some of the names from other countries? For instance, Russian's President Vladimir Putin's name is pronounced the same all over the world. We can include the former President of France, Jacques Chirac, Bin Ladin, and Saddam Hussein and yes even our former President, George W. Bush and present, Barack Hussein Obama.      So, what happen to the Creator's name? Scriptures and any good encyclopedia will tell us that the children of Israel, did not keep the Torah. Due to their hardened hearts and disobedience, Elohim allowed them to be exiled into Babylon for seventy years. During this time, the Babylonians began making fun of them! We are told the following: 2 Chronicles 7:14, "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
     The children of Israel carried YHWH's name. They were called Yahudim's (Judah / Yahudah, drop the 'd' sound). Since the NAME was blasphemed from pagans, the Name was AVOIDED COMPLETELY. Going against the Third Commandment, This is what the Father's name written in Hebrew looks like  This is the Fathers name written in Palaeo-Hebrew , before taken exile to Babylon. We read from left to right but the NAME is read from right to left. This is called the Tetragrammaton which mean the four letters; (please take note, we are attempting to sound/say the name correctly and that is why we see different spellings of the name, these are transliterations from the Hebrew letters) Y= YOD, the d is dropped. H= HAY W=WAW, sounds like 'OO' as in Hallelu-Yah H=Hay Yahueh Yahu'ah Yahuwah, Ya-HOO'-ah
    What is interesting, if we take the name Judah back to the original Hebrew we get Yehudah. Drop the 'd' sound and we get Yahuah!     Over time, to say the NAME became on offense worthy of death, except for the priests. See Yohanan the immerser (John the Baptist) was a Priest, therefore, he was allowed to say The Name.
He tells us... "I am: ;that is my Name! I am the first and I am the last, apart from me there is no Eloah. Is there any Eloah besides Me? Before Me? I am Eloah, and there is noother, I am Eloah, and there is none like Me. Before Me, no Eloah, was formed nor will there be one after Me. I, even I , and apart from me there is no Saviour.

     Now that we behold Abba's (our father's) NAME, let us find out His Son's Name. This Name is above all other names. So, let us carefully uncover the real name of the Son. Keeping in mind that translation brings the meaning of the name but not necessarily the sound, whereas transliteration brings the sound but not necessarily the meaning.      The Son's name written in Palaeo-Hebrew looks like this: . Can you see Abba's Name in the Son's name?  Father's name.      Romans 10:14, "How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?"      Let us look at the first book in the New Testament, Mattithyahu (Matthew) 1:21-23,"And she shall give birth to a Son, and you shall call His Name For He shall save His People from their sins. And all this came to be in order to fill what was spoken by Through the prophet saying, "See a maiden shall conceive, and she shall give birth to a Son, and they shall call His Name Immane'el" which translated, means "El with us".
     , we get the name, Yahushua. Shua means save. When we put the Name above all names together we get Yah+Saves. This tells us WHO is doing the Saving, Yah Saves! Now if we were to translate Yahushua into English, His name would sound more like Joshua. But since scriptures tells us the following:  Acts 4:12,"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Since there is NO OTHER NAME UNDER THE SKY, let us call on this NAME, Yahushua! Sadly, the following verse has happened: John 5:43, "I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive".       Not only has His Name been given a Hellenized version but many are looked down on because they choose to call on the name above all other names, Yahushua. We need to ponder on why is satan, ha satan's (the adversary) name, the same in all languages? Just like Bin Ladin, Saddam Hussein, Vladimir Putin, President Bush, etc. Yet the Name Above All Names is changed?      Let us look at the first part in that verse from John 5:43, "I am come in my Father's name." He has the Father's name. And when did men first began to call on the name of ? Gen. 4:26, " And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of ."

Joel 2:32,"And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as hath said, and in the remnant whom shall call."
     When the Son said, "I come in my Abba's Name," He literally meant it. There is power in the Name of Yahushua,"Yah's salvation,Yah Saves." When one believes in calling on the name of Yahushua, then is immersed (baptized)in the name of Yahushua, by calling on the name of Yahushua, we are indeed calling on the Name of YHWH, Yahuah (Ya-Hoo-ah). We should be hearing Abba's Name and we do hear His name in His Son's name. Even the highest praise, Hallelu-Yah, means Praise Yah! Proverbs 30:4, "Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? Who hath gathered the wind in his fists? Who hath bound the waters in a garment? Who hath established all the ends of the earth? What is His Name, and what is His Son's Name, if thou canst tell?"         This is an invitation, to call and seek these two NAMES that men have tried to suppress with titles and names of other deities.      We can rest be assured that HIS people will know His name and His Son's name. Yeshayahu (Isaiah),52:6, "Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I."       Isn't that wonderful news? His people will know His name! He will see to it. This may be the first time you have heard the Father's Name and you are seeing His Name in His Son's Name!

Listen to the following words of Yahushua: John 17:6,

"I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word."      He continues speaking in Yohanan (John) 17:11 "And I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You, Set-Apart Abba, guard (keep) them in Your Name which You have given Me, so that they might be one, as We are."      How much of an uproar did the name of the Abba and Son bring? When the Israelites where exiled into Babylon, we briefly discussed how the name became suppressed. If anyone, other than a Priest would say the Name they would be under a penalty of death! The Name was replaced with Adonai meaning, my sovereign. Therefore, after years of not saying the Name, we can see this caused an uproar from the Priest"s.
Luke 19:38-40, "saying, "Blessed is the Sovereign who is coming in the name of ! "Peace in heaven and esteem in the highest!" And some of the Pharisees from the crowd, said to Him, "Teacher, rebuke Your taught ones." But He answering, said to them, "I say to you that if these shall be silent, the stones would cry out." (Psalm 118:26 was being fulfilled)
     In October of 2002, something remarkable was found. An ossuary (bone box) that dated from the year 62 A.D. The very stones did cry out!


Reading from right to left, Ya'akov, Bar, Yos'ef. Akkui di Y'shua. James, son of Joseph, brother of Y'shua (shortened version). Luke 11:52,"Woe unto you, lawyers! For ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered."       Here, He is speaking about the ones that are learned in the Torah. Yet, they have taken the key of knowledge away. Let us ponder on this. What did they take away? They took the NAME away from the common people!      Paul has a lot to say about what he did to believers who called on the Name and believed in Yahushua. Acts,26:9-11, "I verily thought with myself, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Yahushua of Nazareth. Which thing I also did in Jerusalem: and many of the saints (set Apart ones) did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I gave my voice against them. And I punished them oft in every synagogue, and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I persecuted them even unto strange cities."      As we just read, Sha'ul (Paul) had received authority from the chief Priests, to put believers in prison, put them to death, and he stood against them. He would even go into strange cities to hunt these believers down to put them to death! Wow! There is one very important word I do not want us to overlook, the word, blaspheme. What is blasphemy? In scriptures, we find two things that are blasphemy. One is when one claims to be able to forgive sins and the other is for one to claim/make himself Eloah (John 10:30). Knowing these are the two reasons of Blasphemy, why would believers be accused of blaspheme? Did they claim to be Eloah or did they claim to follow Him? Did they claim to be able to forgive sins, or did they follow the very one that takes their and all believers sin's away? Since, they did not fit into one of these two categories, then why were they accused of blaspheme?      The answer can be found in the book of Acts. Sha'ul (Paul) is called up in front of the judgment seat, He was being accused of seducing men to worship Elohim contrary to the Torah,: Acts,18:14,15, "And when Sha'ul (Paul) was now about to open his mouth, Gallio said unto the Jews, If it were a matter of wrong or wicked lewdness, O ye Jews, reason would that I should bear with you: But if it be a question of words and names, and of your law, look ye to it; for I will be no judge of such matters."      Praise be to Yahuah! We know from scriptures Sha'ul (Paul) kept the Torah. He even kept the Feast Days. Go on look, it is written. Therefore, we see the uproar; the blasphemy that was being talked about was the NAME.      Hurry, turn with me to Acts 4:7, "And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this"       See there is Power in the name of Yahushua!      Let us stay in the same book. Acts 4:17,18, "But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name. And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Yahushua."      The key of knowledge that the Priest took away was the NAME! Let us review the stoning of Stephen. Acts 6:14, "For we have heard him say, that this Yahushua of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered us." In Acts 7 leading up to the stoning, Stephen speaks the Name at least 6 times that I know of. Let us pick up in verse 54 (Acts 7) "When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth." Acts 7:55-58, "But he, being full of the Set Apart Spirit, looked up steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of Eloah, and Yahushua standing on the right hand of Eloah. And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of Eloah. Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord, and cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet, whose name was Saul".      From these words, we can see they were furious, screaming and holding their ears! In Jeremiah, we find an end time prophecy. Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah),16:19,21, "O , my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit. Therefore, behold, I will cause them to know mine hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is "

Zephaniah,3:9, "For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of , to serve him with one consent."
Zechariah,13:9, "And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say,  is my Eloah."
Revelation,2:3,"And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted."
Revelation,14:1,"And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads."
     Not only have I been told society does not accept that name but some even claim that the Son's name  was spoken in Greek. Remember He told us all things, including how many would accept another name. So what name did the Son speak? The Greek name, Jesus? Or could He have spoken a  different name? 
Acts,26:14-15,"And when we had all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice speaking to me, and saying, in the Hebrew language, "Sha'ul, Sha'ul, why do you persecute Me? It is hard for you to kick against the prods." And I said, "Who are you, Master?" And He said, "I am Yahushua, whom you persecute,"" Please notice that the language the Mashiach (Messiah) spoke and Sha'ul (Paul) heard was in the Set Apart Tongue, the HEBREW language. The Mashiach spoke His name in Hebrew not the Greek form.
When one starts using and then sharing the Name Above All Names, Yahushua with others some may ask.."Are you Hebrew?"

My reply is... "Are you Greek?"

DOES BAAL GAD equal   THE LORD GOD OF CHRISTIANITY?

To many Christians, the above question would be blasphemous to even contemplate! They would never even consider the thought, much less study like the noble Bereans, of whom it is written in the Scriptures: "Now these were more noble than those in Thessalonica who received the word with great eagerness, and searched the Scriptures daily, if these words were so." (Acts 17:11)Scripture says that the old serpent, called the Devil and Satan, has deceived the whole world: "And the great dragon was thrown out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who leads all the world astray." (Rev. 12:9) Do you realize just how deep that deception is? This article will reveal some of the depths of that deception, to those who are able to receive it. Does it not behoove us, therefore, to study the Scriptures in order to see if we too have been led astray? More so in light of the following Scripture which explicitly tells us that salvation comes in only one exclusive name: "And there is no deliverance in anyone else, for there is no other name under the heaven given among men by which we need to be saved." (Acts 4:12)Is it not evident then, according to the above quoted verse, that if Satan wants to keep us from being saved or delivered, all he has to do is to deceive us into calling on another name rather than the one exclusive name that has been given for that very purpose by our Creator? I am always shocked and amazed at the ignorance of the Creator's professed people who cannot understand the simple fact that one is one and never two, three, four, five, etc… Now surely, if there is only one name given, how can these professed believers say that it doesn’t matter what name they call on? Are they not deceived by that old serpent, Satan the Devil, if they are calling on any other name other than that one exclusive name that was given by our Creator Himself? Surely you can see that the only answer to our questions is—yes, they have most definitely been deceived!

WHO OR WHAT IS BAAL?

To find the answer to this question, a good place to begin is using the Strong’s Hebrew Dictionary.
#1167 ba’al, bah’al; from 1166; a master; hence a husband, or (fig.) owner (often used with another noun in modification of this latter sense):- + archer, + babbler, + bird, captain, chief man, + confederate, + have to do, + dreamer, those to whom it is due, + furious, those that are given to it, great, + hairy, he that hath it, have, +horseman, husband, lord, man, + married, master, person, + sworn, they of. Now, if these were the only uses of the word baal, we really couldn’t complain, could we? Why? Because even Scripture reveals that YHWH was a husband to Israel (cf. Isa. 54:5; Jer. 31:32). This in Hebrew, would be, "YHWH is baal to Israel." Thus, baal is used in a good sense. But this is not the only usage of the word, as we shall show.#1168 ba’al, bah’al; the same as 1167; Baal, a Phoenician deity:-Baal, (plur.) Baalim. Here we find another Baal, a bad one, a false deity. Can we find out more about this false deity? Yes, let me quote page 1212 in the Explanatory Notes of The Scriptures:Ba’al: This word it seems, gradually became a proper name. A similar Semitic word derives from the Aryan root Bhal, which means "to shine," according to some. According to W. H. Roscher’s well-known lexicon of mythology, Ba’al (Bel, Belos) was the ancestral and national deity of the Semites, and says that Ba’al was the founder of Babel (Babylon), according to secular history. He is identified with Zeus, Jupiter, Ammon, Asshur, Assur, Kronos, and Bel-Markud. Morris Jastrow, Max Müller, and W. H. Roscher all three agree: Baal is the Babylonian sun deity. The Ba’als of the nations were sun deities, and Ba’al worship means sun worship. Quite revealing isn’t it? Now, would YHWH appreciate it if we called Him after the name of a false deity? A closer look at a couple of Scriptures will answer that question easily! Let us see just what the Mind of YHWH is in regards to the above question."And in all that I have said to you take heed, and make no mention of the name of other mighty ones, let it not be heard from your mouth," Ex. 23:13.
"...And make no mention of the name of their mighty ones, nor swear by them, nor serve them, nor bow down to them," Josh. 23:7.
YHWH has explicitly spoken to us, by the above verses of Scripture, not to mention the name of the other mighty ones, even to the point that they not be heard coming out of our lips. So the answer to our question is: NO! YHWH would not be pleased if we called Him by the name of any other mighty one! So YHWH would not be pleased if we called Him Baal in the bad sense. But, how is it that we can call Him baal in a good sense and be right, but yet use the same word, and it is in a wrong sense, causing YHWH'S anger to burn against us? What is the answer to this apparent contradiction of YHWH'S word? Let’s look again at Strong’s #1167. Do you see the answer? It’s really simple! Notice that it says: #1167 Baal is...(often used with another noun in modification of this latter sense)...But what does this mean? To find the answer we need to research a few more Scriptures that will shed much needed light on the subject. The three Scriptures I want us to look at relate to a place in Syria called Baal Gad."Thus Joshua took all this land: the mountain country, and all the South, and all the land of Goshen, and the low country, and the desert plain, and the mountains of Yisra’el and its low lands, from Mount Halak that goes up to Seir, and as far as Baal Gad in the valley of Lebanon below Mount Hermon…," Josh. 11:16-17."And these are the kings of the land which Joshua and the children of Israel smote beyond the Jordan, on the west, from Baal Gad in the valley of Lebanon as far as Mount Halak that goes up to Seir, which Joshua gave to the tribes of Israel as a possession according to their divisions," Josh. 12:7."And the land of the Gebalites, and all Lebanon toward the sunrise, from Baal Gad below Mount Hermon as far as the entrance to Hamath," Josh. 13:5.Have you noticed that in each of the above quoted texts reference is made to a place called Baal Gad? Just what and where was this place called Baal Gad? Let’s again go to the Strong’s Hebrew Dictionary for the answer.#1171 Baal Gad, bah’al gawd; from 1168 and 1409; Baal of Fortune: Baal Gad, a place in Syria: Baal-gad. Now that wasn’t much of an answer was it? We still haven’t found out who or what Baal of Fortune was. Let us dig deeper to find out the truth by looking up the reference that was given under Strong’s #1409 for more light.#1409 gad, gawd; from 1464 (in the sense of distributing); fortune: troop.

WORD GAMES

Now that still doesn’t give us much light, you might say. You’re just giving us the run around with word games, you might say. Well, that’s exactly what Satan, that old deceiver wants you to think! You see, he doesn’t want you to be diligent seekers for truth. He doesn’t want you digging up in the treasure house of the Hebrew language, because if you do, he knows you will find out the deceptive word games he’s played on you! Didn’t Yahushua tell us our search for truth would be like searching for hidden treasure? (cf. Mt. 13:44) Do you find hidden treasure just lying on top of the ground or do you have to take a spade or shovel and work hard, digging to find it? Believe me, the answer was revealed under Strong’s #1409 if you know where to find the Scripture that reveals this false deity—Baal of fortune! Actually it will be quite revealing once you see it! "But you are those who forsake YHWH, who forget My set-apart mountain, who prepare a table for Gad [that troop, KJV], and who fill a drink offering for Meni [that number, KJV]. And I shall allot you to the sword, and let you bow down to the slaughter, because I called and you did not answer, I spoke and you did not hear, and you did evil before My eyes and chose that in which I did not delight," Isa. 65:11-12.
If you have a KJV Bible, you will find for Gad it says "that troop" (Strong’s #1409). In fact many Bibles have center or side column references that inform the readers that Gad (that troop) is a false deity!
This can also be discovered by looking at Strong’s #1408:
#1408 Gad, gad; a var. of 1409; Fortune, a Bab. Deity: that troop.
Here is where Satan has played word games to deceive the whole world into worshipping a false Babylonian deity of Fortune! But who is really being worshipped behind the name of this ancient idol Baal-Gad? And how has Satan accomplished this so easily? Word Games! Remember Acts 4:12 (Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven whereby we must be saved. Remember that Yahushua also said, "...if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive." (John 5:43)Notice under Strong’s #1167, one of the definitions of the word Baal into English is lord!

BAAL ZEBUWB OR BEELZEBOUL

#1176 Baal Zebuwb, bah’al zeb-oob; from 1168 and 2070; Baal of (the) fly; Baal-zebub, a special deity of the Ekronites:  Baal-Zebub.
Remember when the Pharisees called Yahushua the Messiah Beelzebub (Mat. 10:25) and claimed that He cast out the demons by the prince of demons (Mat. 12:24, 27; Mk. 3:22; Lk. 11:15, 18, 19). Well, now go to Strong’s Greek #954 and be ready for a shock!
#954 (Greek) Beelzeboul, beh-el-zeb-ool’; of Chald. Or. [by parody upon 1176]; dung-god; Beelzebul, a name of Satan:  Beelzebub.

GAD, GAWD, GOD

Are you beginning to see that Baal = lord or LORD or master and that Baal is none other than Satan himself?! But coupled with Satan’s title of Baal which equals lord, or Lord, or LORD, or master is the word Gad. Gad meant Fortune or that troop. Could the old saying about a person selling their soul to Satan have any bearing here? Satan will give you a fortune for your soul, but once you have sold it to him, he will usually double cross you and take your life (soul) away! How many troops of lost souls does Satan have through his deceptions?! Notice how the Masorites vowel pointed the word Gad in Hebrew in 1409 like this: ???: When pointed like this, the word is pronounced Gawd or God or god in Hebrew. Now if we translate Baal Gad into English what does it become? Does it not become LORD GOD? Or lord god? Or Lord God? The capitalization doesn’t change the sound of the word in any way and even so the fact is Baal Gad is the Lord God who is Lord Satan or Master Satan!

PUTTING IT TOGETHER!

Let me quote another explanatory note from pages 1214-1215 of The Scriptures: Gad: Apart from Gad, the son of Ya’aqob (Jacob) there was another "Gad." The astrologers of Babel called Jupiter (Zeus) by the name "Gad." He was also well known among the Canaanites (the Kena’anites) where his name was often coupled with Baal, Baal Gad, which according to the Massoretic vowel pointing in the book of Yehoshua (Joshua) is pronounced: Baal God. This same name is discovered in the ancient Germanic languages as Gott, Goda, Gode, God, Gud, Gade. And searching further back into its Indo-Germanic (Indo-European) roots, we find that it traces back to the word GHODH, which means "union" even "sexual union." No wonder this meaning is still evident in the Dutch and German gode. It is also not difficult to see it in the English "gadfly" and "gadding about." It is no wonder then that Satan was termed Baal Zebuwb in Hebrew and Beel Zeboul in Greek! So we have seen that both mean "Lord of the flies" (See Brown, Driver & Briggs Hebrew Lexicon to the Old Testament under 1176). How ironic that Satan was pictured as a gadfly or as one who gads about! A look at the definition of these two words in Webster’s New World Dictionary is quite revealing: gad·fly n., pl. flies’ [GAD² + FLY²] 1. a large fly that bites livestock 2. One who annoys others.
gad·a·bout n. a person who gads about; restless seeker after fun, etc.
Gad¹ (gad) [Heb. gadh, lit., fortune] Bible 1. The seventh son of Jacob 2. The tribe of Israel descended from him
Gad² (gad) interj. [euphemism for GOD] [also g-] a mild oath or expression of surprise, disgust, etc.
gad¹ (gad) vi. gad’ded, gad’ding [LME gadden, to hurry, perhaps back-formation < gadeling, companion in arms < OE. gædeling: for IE. Base see GATHER] to wander about in an idle or restless way, as in seeking amusement—n. an act of gadding: chiefly in the phrase on (or upon) the gad, gadding about—gad’der n. Now let’s compare the meanings here with Isaiah 65:11 where Gad has been translated as "that troop." 1. A troop is defined as a group of persons, animals, or, formerly, things; herd, flock, band, etc. 2. Loosely, a great number; lot 3. A body of soldiers 4. A subdivision of a cavalry regiment that corresponds to a company of infantry 5. A unit of Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts under an adult leader 6. [Archaic] a group of actors; troupe, etc. (Webster’s New World Dictionary). These definitions would cause the meaning of this word to fall in the category of gad¹ in the sense of "gather" which is why the translators rendered Gad as "that troop." Gad¹ corresponds with the meaning of the deity of fortune which also was YHWH’S intended purpose for using the word, while Gad² ties it all together in the sense of a "euphemism for God." In the book of Job, when Satan appeared with the sons of Elohim before YHWH, he was asked, "Whence comest thou?" Satan’s answer was, "From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it." (Job. 1:7, 2:2) Satan as Baal-Zebub (Lord of flies) does exactly what a gadfly and a gadabout does. He is a restless seeker after fun. He goes to and fro, up and down seeking to annoy others (especially man, but also YHWH) which he thinks is fun.Satan does have a terrible bite, and he can be very annoying too—just like a gadfly! Also he gads about looking for souls to devour and it must be a lot of fun for him to deceive and cause so much misery and suffering upon humanity. (c.f. Job chapters 1 & 2 again; 1 Pet. 5:8). No wonder James Strong said that Beelzeboul was a name for Satan (cf. Strong’s #954 Greek Dictionary).
So what have we learned from our study of a few Scriptures using the inspired Hebrew language and a few Greek words? We have learned that God was originally the name of an idol once worshipped in Babel (Babylon). It was later spread throughout the land of Canaan being picked up by the Canaanites and adopted by the children of Israel when they went into apostasy! We also have learned, from Isa. 65:11-12, the shocking truth that many of YHWH’S people have been tricked into forsaking YHWH for this pagan idol by Satan playing "word games". (c.f. Jer. 2:10-13) The saddest part of all is that behind this pagan idol called Baal Gad (Lord God) stands the real being who is worshipped by the whole Christian world—Satan himself! (c.f. Isa. 14:12-17; Eze. 28:1-9; 2Thes. 2:3-12). Yes, Christians are awaiting a final anti-Christ to come, but do not realize he is already in their midst and worshipped! Christians are preparing a feast table for God—Satan; and they don’t even know it, and wouldn’t believe it even if you told them! Christians just don’t realize who stands behind the idol and its name to receive its praise and worship (c.f. Lev. 17:7; Dt. 32:17; Ps. 106:37; 2 Chron. 11:15; 1Cor. 10:21-22). Baal Gad is the LORD God of the Christians; but don’t try to tell them I told you so, because they wouldn’t believe it even if you showed it to them straight out of the Hebrew Scriptures! But if you are a Christian, and you see the truth herein presented, what should you do about it? The Scriptures have the answer: "Truly then, having overlooked these times of ignorance, YHWH now commands all men everywhere to repent," Acts 17:30. "Come, and let us turn back to YHWH, for He has torn but He does heal us. He has stricken but He binds us up. After two days He shall revive us, on the third day He will raise us up, so that we may live before Him. So let us know, let us pursue to know YHWH. His going forth is as certain as the morning. And He comes to us like the rain, like the latter rain watering the earth," Hos. 6:1-3.
"O Yisrael, return to YHWH your Elohim, for you have stumbled by your iniquity. Take words with you, and return to YHWH. Say to Him, ‘Take away all iniquity, and accept what is good, and we will render the bulls of our lips. Ashshur does not save us. We do not ride on horses, nor ever again do we say to the work of our hands, ‘Our mighty ones.’ For the fatherless finds compassion in you," Hos. 14:1-3.
And YHWH says, in response to our repentence: "I shall heal their backsliding, I shall love them spontaneously, for Thy displeasure has turned away from Him. I shall be like the dew to Yisrael. He shall blossom like the lily, and cast out His roots like Lebanon. His branches shall spread, and His splendour shall be like an olive tree, and His fragrance like Lebanon. Those who dwell under His shadow shall return. They shall revive like grain, and blossom like the vine, and become as fragrant as the wine of Lebanon. What more had Ephraim to do with idols? It is I Who answer and look after him. I am like a green cypress tree, your fruit comes from Me. Who is wise? Let him understand these things. Who is prudent? Let him know them. For the ways of YHWH are right; the righteous walk in them, but transgressors stumble in them." Hosea 14:4-9.
As the Apostle Kefa (peter) cried out, "Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Yahushua the Messiah for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit," Acts 2:38.
In another place he reveals that the name of the Messiah is the only name under heaven whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
It is the admonition of this ministry that we repent of our sins and fulfill the criteria revealed in Acts 2:38 and 4:12. May YHWH bless you to see, hear and understand these things and may you be led to fulfill them in your life.
